Improving access to education is an integral part of breaking the devastating cycle of poverty. Proyecto Laguna works to assist those in need in improving their own lives. By working with the local community through parents and teachers, we are helping to create long-term, self-sustaining solutions for the community. Working through empowering and supporting community members, rather than providing one-time handouts creates a cycle of pride and success that achieves greater long-term benefits. At present our programs are in place and working in the pueblo of Dirià, Nicaragua. We are working directly with several communities and three schools, with an attendance of over 1000 children, and we expect to expand our reach in the future.
