Proyecto Laguna was formed by a small group of women from the United States. One now lives with her family full time in Nicaragua and others spend a portion of the year there. Due to our involvement in several business and development projects in the country we became aware of many needs of the local communities. We then created "Proyecto Laguna" (the Laguna Project), a not-for-profit foundation formed to assist in filling these needs by a unique approach of creating awareness and providing aid through empowering the residents to help themselves and their families.

Drawing on our combined experience in business management, social work, community service, volunteer projects, education and fund raising we are making progress in our endeavors. Our efforts are conducted directly with the Ministry of Education and with the "Al Calde" (Municipal House) of Diria. We work directly with the people who can implement changes and with our aid make progress in a common goal.

One great thing that we have found is that a little goes a long way in Nicaragua, so give generously, you can make a HUGE difference in the lives of many.
